1. Grandma and Papa! My parents came for a visit recently to love on their two favorite Colorado grandsons. Since the boys celebrated their birthdays in late March, they came bearing gifts and taking us all out to dinner. We went to one of our favorites–AI Sushi & Grill–and it was DELICIOUS! We just spent time hanging out and catching up and I love that the boys will still take the time to sit on Grandma and Papa’s lap–even though they are now eclipsed by my two giants.
2. Two Track Meets in One Week. Grayson had his last two track meets of the season all in one week. He really enjoyed his first season of doing track and field. I loved that the coaches were so great about helping him develop his skills and celebrate accomplishments each week for his personal best times. I also loved watching his races. I did not love the 5-6 hours of sitting on bleachers waiting to watch his events–and I’m definitely going to invest in comfy stadium chairs for next year.
3. A Solo Show at The Coop. It’s been 5 months since Super Rockstar hung up his microphone as lead singer of SofaKillers. We have enjoyed a lot of awesome family time, he’s been getting some much needed rest on the weekends and has also been getting to paint a lot and practice songs on his new guitar. Our good friend and owner of our favorite Black Forest bar, The Chicken Coop, asked him to play a solo show and he got to perform this past week. There were some rough spots with the sound here and there, but it was so great to hear him sing. It was also awesome to see so many of our favorite folks that came out to listen.
