1. Gig Night! Finally, finally, FINALLY–SofaKillers got to have a gig. It’s been almost 4 months since they last got to play. It was an AMAZING weekend–two nights playing at Boot Barn Hall to a packed house. Our bars and restaurants are finally able to open to more than a handful and the crowd came and had a great time! It was so great to hear my man sing and all the guys in the band play my favorite tunes. PLUS, I got to hug the necks of folks I haven’t seen in a very long time.
2. Snowpocalypse 2021. They were originally predicting anywhere from a couple of inches to two feet. We got about 6-8″ and it’s still coming down. After the first few inches dumped, the boys and I grabbed our sleds and headed to our favorite spot. We quickly found out that not only was it great for sledding, but the perfect snowman building snow. Or, in our case, giant snow wheel building snow. It was fantastic!
3. Epic Nerf Battle. I left Super Rockstar with the boys for a couple of hours on Saturday and came home to discover they had the most epic Nerf gun battle. Super Rockstar was quick to tell me that he was victorious in the great battle. Let’s take a look at the video evidence…
4. What we watched. We found out Coming 2 America (aka– Coming to America 2) was available to watch, so of course we had to start with the first one–Coming To America. I had forgotten how funny this one is–Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall along with so many other awesome actors. We loved seeing it again. We also watched the new one–Coming 2 America. Here’s the thing–it was….O.K. In my opinion, the story seemed very disjointed and they relied too heavily on recycled humor from the first one. There are some funny moments here and there, but overall I was kind of disappointed. The first one is not appropriate for kids–there’s some half naked women shown and a lot of adult humor. The second one is probably ok, but without seeing the first one–it might not make much sense.
Since it was a gig weekend, the boys got to each choose a movie to watch. Morgan chose Despicable Me and Grayson chose Despicable Me 2. It had been a while since they have watched these–they love them both.
