It’s Chilly, so let’s make some Chili!

It has been so bitter cold this past couple of days, I thought some nice hot chili would help warm up our tummy’s.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 tsp Garlic Salt
  • 8 oz can of tomato paste
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2-15 oz cans of kidney beans drained and rinced
  • 1/4 cup corn meal
  • Shredded cheese for serving
  • Sour Cream for serving
  • Corn Chips for serving

Instructions
 

  • Mix garlic salt and ground beef.
  • Brown the meat.
  • Drain excess fat
  • Add tomato paste, water, chili powder, cumin, salt, italian seasoning.
  • Stir together well
  • Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low
  • Simmer for 1 hour.
  • Add water as needed if it becomes dry
  • Add corn meal and stir together well.
  • Add the beans and simmer 10 minutes.
  • Serve with shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream and corn chips.

The Ingredients.

Mix the garlic salt into the meat.

Brown the meat and drain the excess fat.

Add the tomato paste, water, chili powder, cumin and Italian seasoning and stir together well.

   

Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low. Simmer 1 hour.

Add 1/4 cup corn meal and stir well.

Add beans and simmer 10 minutes

Serve with shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream and some corn chips.

This is a wonderful hearty meal. You and your family will feel like shoveling the snow after eating all this deliciousness (or taking a nap like I opted to).
