For the month of August, we got to enjoy one last new summer movie release in the theater. We also watched several old favorites at home and a new one on Prime. There are links to IMdb.com where you can find descriptions, trailers, and all the information you need about the movie. You can also find their parent guide information if you just scroll down a bit. Pluggedin.com is also a great resource to learn more about the content of movies, tv shows, games, books, and YouTube channel. Here’s what we watched:
1.The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This movie series is a long time favorite of ours. We watch them about every 2-3 years. I keep hearing rumors that there will be another one in this series someday-but I’m not holding breath.

2. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. I tend to like this one the best. I love Reepicheep.

3. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. The first time I ever saw this one–I was NOT a fan of Eustace. After seeing it several more times–he’s grown on me.

4. The Fantastic Four: First Steps. I’ve never been a huge fan of the Fantastic Four, but I have to say–this movie was really, really good. Good story, great action and we all enjoyed it a lot more than we thought we would.

5. The Amateur. This is a new one on Prime starring Rami Malek. He plays a decoder for the CIA and when his wife is killed in a terrorist attack he becomes a field agent to catch those responsible. It’s what I would call a quiet action movie. It’s really more of a drama, but it has some really good intensity to it. We all really liked it.

6. Star Trek. Super Rockstar LOVES a good space movie and often requests this series for family movie night. The boys finally agreed and he was downright giddy. They are all so very good–great action, some good comedy and the CGI is incredible.

7. Star Trek: Into Darkness. I like how they become more of a team in this one–fighting against a common foe. Simon Peg as Scotty is my absolute favorite.

8. Star Trek: Beyond. This is my least favorite–mostly because I’m tired of the Enterprise ship being destroyed…again. It has some good moments though. I’ve read that there will be another one in this series coming out soon. I can’t wait.

How about you? I would love to hear what you are enjoying watching.
