Recipe–Trim Healthy Mama Superfood Chocolate Chews

Posted on July 22, 2020 by Jennifer Glenn

I have a big gigantic sweet tooth–especially for chocolate. When I started following the Trim Healthy Mama way of eating a few years ago– it became a bit of a challenge to find treats made with their on plan sweeteners (no sugar–just stevia and stevia blends) that didn’t make me want to cry. I have now found several I enjoy and this one called Superfood Chocolate Chews is one of my favorites–it kind of tastes like Tootsie Rolls.

The Ingredients.

Mix Dry Ingredients. Whisk together the Whey Protein, Collagen, Unsweetened Cocoa powder, Pyure (you can also use sugar or some other non sugar blend), and salt.

Add Vanilla and Oil. Mix well.

Add 1 Tbsp of water and mix well.

Add more water 1 tsp. at a time until dough clings together. It’s REALLY important to not overdo the water. The dough will be sticky and if you add too much water it gets so messy you can’t do anything with it. Basically, it becomes like The Blob and takes over the universe in a big sticky chocolatey mess.

Squish the mix into a ball.  It will still be pretty sticky even if you don’t over do it on the water. You might want to have some industrial strength soap on hand.

Divide into 1″ pieces and roll into balls and place in a storage container. Since these taste a lot like Tootsie Rolls, you can shape them that way if you want to.

Refrigerate and enjoy!

These are delicious AND very healthy. I make these at least once a week and have a couple of pieces any time I need a chocolate fix.
